Securo is an open-source, self-hosted personal finance manager that covers the full surface most people currently split across three or four apps: bank synchronisation, credit cards, investment portfolios, shared expenses and splits, recurring bills, budgets and rule-based automation. Bank connections span Europe, the US and Brazil through regulated Open Finance and Open Banking channels, and the architecture point is stated bluntly on the homepage — the banks send transactions to your server, credentials and history stay with you, and the project operates no servers of its own, so there is nothing for it to monetise and nothing to breach. Portfolio tracking covers listed equities alongside manually entered assets like property. The AI surface is an assistant that answers questions over your own data — the worked example asks where the money went over three months, gets a category breakdown with a quarter-on-quarter comparison, and then sets a budget in the follow-up turn — and, in keeping with the rest of the design, it runs on your server with a model you choose rather than a vendor endpoint. Shared expenses handle multi-person splits with a per-person balance. The licence is AGPL-3.0, which is the licence choice that makes the promise durable rather than merely stated. The commercial model is that there is not one for self-hosting: the pricing page itemises every capability at $0.00 and totals it honestly. The cost is operational — you run the server, you handle the backups, and you are on the project's own upgrade cadence.
