About Scrnify

Scrnify is a screenshot and short-video capture API aimed at the place most teams actually need one: a CI job or an agent script that has to turn a deploy URL into an image without anybody keeping a browser fleet alive. You send one HTTP request, or run the CLI, and a remote browser worker renders the page and hands back a file URL — as JSON, or as a 307 redirect you can pipe straight into the next shell step. The capture side is deliberate rather than minimal: custom viewport sizes, full-page capture, a CSS-selector element mode, video capture measured in seconds, and waits for dynamic content so the shot is taken after the page has settled instead of mid-paint. The operational argument is the interesting one. Running Playwright or Puppeteer yourself means Chrome installs, sandbox flags, font packages, memory leaks and worker cleanup, all kept warm for a workload that fires a few times a day; Scrnify moves that to someone else's problem while your app keeps the only decisions that matter, which are when to capture and where to store the result. Requests can be signed, responses cached, and API keys scoped for production use. The billing model matches the shape of the work — no monthly fee, failures and cache hits cost nothing, and rates step down after the first 2,000 units.
