Entries are written as markdown files in a source repository and synced through a GitHub integration, so publishing a release note is a commit rather than a CMS session — which means the changelog can be updated in the same pull request that ships the feature, and reviewed the same way. The hosted product renders those files as a themeable site with light, dark and system modes, a category filter, full-text search and an automatically generated RSS feed so users can subscribe without an email list. Changelogs can live on a free editable subdomain or a custom domain with SSL, and can be password-protected, which is the feature that makes it usable for internal or customer-specific release communication rather than only public product updates. A Next.js SDK is published for teams that want the entries embedded inside their own application shell rather than linked out to a separate site.
