Shotpipe is a screenshot and og:image API built around one shape: sign a URL, get back an image. GET /render captures any page as PNG, JPEG or PDF using real headless Chrome, including user-submitted URLs, and does the fetch SSRF-safely so a hostile link cannot reach your internal network. GET /og serves dynamic Open Graph images from hosted templates parameterised by query string — the URL is signed at build time in microseconds and rendered lazily on the first crawler hit, so your build never waits on a browser. Every request is HMAC-signed with your secret, which means a tampered or unsigned URL is rejected and nobody can render on your key. Cached hits are served from the edge in single-digit milliseconds and are never metered, so what moves you up a plan is how many pages you have rather than how much traffic they get. Cookie banners and ad networks are blocked by default rather than behind a parameter you have to discover, with vendor-specific rules for OneTrust, Cookiebot, Sourcepoint and Didomi that leave real page content alone; block_ads=false and block_banners=false give you an archival capture instead. Two endpoints exist specifically for directory and listing sites: GET /meta returns a listing's favicon, high-resolution logo, title, description and og:image in one call, and GET /check reports whether the listing is still alive, parked or gone. There is an Eleventy plugin, and the vendor publishes a dated comparison against HCTI, ScreenshotOne and Urlbox.
