Voicetypr is voice dictation for Mac and Windows that runs on-device by default. Hold a global hotkey, speak, and clean text lands wherever the cursor is — Gmail, Slack, Cursor, Notion, anything — with no per-app setup and no copy-paste step. Transcription uses local Whisper and Parakeet models, so audio never leaves the machine unless you choose otherwise; you pick a model at install time, trading speed for accuracy, and 99 languages are detected automatically. The optional cloud paths are explicit rather than default: you can switch to Soniox, OpenAI, Groq or Deepgram when the local machine is underpowered, or route transcription to a stronger desktop on your own Wi-Fi while working from a lighter laptop. AI cleanup — turning rough dictation into a clean email, prompt or note — runs on your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini key, and the site is specific that only text, never audio, is sent for that step. There are six formatting modes, per-app rules, custom vocabulary for names and jargon, translation, push-to-talk or tap-to-lock capture, and a searchable local history of everything dictated. A CLI and API take audio in and return text or JSON, which is how you give an agent ears.
