VoiceScriber is an iPhone transcription app that runs its speech model entirely on the device, which is the whole product rather than a feature of it. Cloud transcription services upload your audio to someone else's server; VoiceScriber never does, and the company states plainly that no server touches the audio — not even theirs. The practical consequences are twofold. Privacy is the obvious one, and it is what the App Store reviews quoted on the site consistently single out. The less obvious one is that it works with no connectivity at all: because the model runs locally, transcription happens in airplane mode, in a basement, on a plane or anywhere with no usable signal, which is exactly where a lot of recording actually happens. It supports more than a hundred languages, and the workflow is three taps — record a meeting, lecture or voice memo; transcribe on-device in seconds with no upload progress bar; then copy the text, share it to any app, or export the full recording. Transcripts can be edited inside the app, and there is a home-screen widget for starting a recording immediately. Everything that leaves the phone leaves because you sent it. The app is free to download with no account required, and both paid options unlock the identical feature set.
