Specific is a cloud platform built on the premise that if your coding agent writes the code, it should provision the infrastructure to run it too. Instead of an SDK your app imports, resources are declared in a specific.hcl file the agent can read and write — a service block with a build, a command, and a public endpoint — so defining a Postgres database or a background worker is an edit the agent makes alongside the feature. From there the loop is local-first: you and the agent spin up the whole stack with one command, test against production data safely in previews, and open a PR that gets its own preview environment.
