About Yap MCP

Yap MCP is a free, open-source MCP server (MIT) that lets Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and other MCP clients transcribe local audio and video files entirely on your computer. It uses NVIDIA Parakeet TDT v3, the same speech engine as the Yap dictation app. Supports WAV, MP3, M4A, MP4, FLAC, OGG, Opus and WebM of any length, detects 25 European languages automatically and offers optional timestamps. No upload, no API key, no account. Runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. Install with npx -y github:founden-bot/yap-mcp.
