The detection step is deliberately review-first rather than automatic: findings are surfaced for a human to confirm, which is the correct default when a false negative means leaking a bank account number. Use-case pages target the documents people most often need to share partially — bank statements, contracts, invoices and tax returns — plus preparing documents for upload to an AI tool, which is a genuinely current problem for anyone pasting a client contract into a chatbot. Retention is a configurable feature rather than a policy buried in terms: paid users choose delete-after-download, one hour, or twenty-four hours, and redaction history is available only within that window. The free tier works with no account at all for small files, with Google sign-in raising the limits, and the site is localised across a large set of languages.
