OpenPanel is an open-source web and product analytics platform that deliberately sits between two categories: the event-and-funnel depth people go to Mixpanel for, and the simplicity people go to Plausible for. It tracks page views and product events in one place, with unlimited websites and apps, unlimited dashboards, charts and tracked profiles, and profile plus conversion-event features that its own customers cite as the reason they switched. It is cookie-less, GDPR compliant and EU hosted, which removes the consent banner and the data-residency conversation at the same time — two things that turn a simple analytics install into a legal review. Pricing is where it is most unusual for the category: there are no tiers and no feature gates at all. You pick a monthly event volume on a slider and everything else is unlimited, from 5,000 events at $2.50 a month through 100,000 at $20, 1 million at $90 and up to 50 million at $900, with two months free on annual billing. Because the project is open source you can also skip the cloud entirely and self-host with unlimited events for free, which makes the cloud plan a hosting convenience rather than a licence. The cloud trial runs 30 days with no card.
