About Maillayer

Maillayer is a self-hosted email marketing platform sold as a one-time licence rather than a subscription, aimed at anyone whose Mailchimp bill scales with a contact list they own anyway. You deploy the Docker image on Railway, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Fly.io, Vultr or Coolify, connect your own Amazon SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark or plain SMTP account, and pay the sending provider directly at its own rates — Maillayer never charges per email or per contact and never sees the contacts inside your install. Functionally it covers campaigns with both a visual and an HTML editor, open and click tracking, drip sequences with minute-to-day delays and automatic unsubscribe, a transactional REST endpoint for receipts and password resets, flat tag-based segmentation instead of nested lists, hosted or embedded lead-capture forms, and per-brand analytics with IP-to-country breakdown. One install serves many brands, each with its own sending provider and its own SPF, DKIM and DMARC records that auto-verify on DNS. The stack is deliberately small: SQLite with nightly VACUUM and backup, an in-process queue and cron, no Postgres, no Redis, no external workers. Six integrations ship built in — Stripe, Firebase Auth, Supabase, Google Sheets, Airtable and a generic webhook. Credentials are AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest and List-Unsubscribe follows RFC 8058.
