Idle Pilot keeps a Slack or Microsoft Teams presence green on a schedule you set, and it does so from the cloud rather than from your machine. That distinction is the entire product: mouse-jiggler scripts and browser extensions stop working the moment the laptop sleeps, whereas Idle Pilot runs on the vendor's servers, so your availability follows your working hours even with the machine closed, offline or powered down. Setup is a one-time desktop-browser connection taking roughly two minutes — Chrome has the fastest path, other browsers use a manual flow — after which the extension is not needed for ongoing operation. Scheduling is per-day rather than a single global window, so different Monday and Friday hours, a carved-out lunch break, and a Vacation Mode that pauses automatically when the connected platform reports you as away are all first-class. Presence is the only thing it touches; it does not read or send messages. Turning it off is immediate and presence reverts to the platform's normal behaviour.
