About CH-UI
CH-UI is an open-source control plane for ClickHouse that ships as a single binary with its state in a local SQLite file and no external services to operate. Install is a curl of one release artifact, chmod, and run; the server comes up on port 3488 and everything — SQL editor, dashboards, pipelines, query analytics, cluster monitoring, governance and an AI copilot — lives inside that one process. The workbench itself is a multi-tab SQL editor with streaming results, sort and filter applied to the result set, automatic query history, and error messages that jump the cursor to the failing token rather than reporting a line number. Around that sit dashboards with shareable public links, dbt-style models and ingestion pipelines from Kafka, S3, webhooks and databases, an OpenTelemetry log explorer, and a tunnel connector so you never have to open an inbound port to your cluster. The AI copilot, called Brain, is bring-your-own-key on the open-source core. The commercial split is honest and easy to reason about: the Apache-2.0 core is free forever with unlimited users, and Pro is a BSL license key that unlocks Governance, Cluster Health, Query Insights, Schedules, Alerts, GitHub sync and SSO on the exact same binary running on your own hardware. Nothing is hosted by the vendor, so data never leaves your infrastructure.
