About Zelyx

Zelyx is a spend-enforcement proxy that sits in the call path between your application and every LLM provider, on the argument that observability dashboards are an autopsy — they explain the bill after it arrives, when what you needed was a seatbelt. Adoption is two lines: point your SDK's base URL at Zelyx and use a Zelyx key, with no SDK swap or config file. From there you set daily caps at company, team, project, model or per-person granularity and tag traffic with headers. Every request is checked against that budget topology before the provider is called, and when a cap is hit Zelyx returns HTTP 402 instead of forwarding, which stops a runaway agent loop rather than recording it. Alerts fire at 80% of a cap. This matters because provider-native spend limits only cover that provider — a $50 OpenAI cap does nothing about the Anthropic fallback or Gemini, so each provider is its own billing island, and none of them tell you which agent or workflow ran four hundred times at 3am. Zelyx sees every call across OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Azure AI Foundry, Groq, Together, Mistral and Cohere, so the breakdown is per-workflow rather than a single monthly total.

Zelyx Pros & Cons

Pros

  • +Enforcement happens before spend, not after the invoice
  • +Works across providers where native spend limits do not
  • +Integration is a base URL change, not a rewrite

⚠️ Cons

  • Plan prices are not readable without a browser
  • A proxy in the call path is a new dependency and latency hop
  • Hard 402s can break production if caps are set carelessly

Who Is Zelyx Best For?

👤Teams running autonomous agents overnight
👤Startups with multi-provider LLM bills they cannot attribute
👤Engineering leads who need per-team AI budgets to actually hold
