Video Notebook is a study tool for learning from video, built around timestamped screenshots and notes that act as bookmarks into the source recording. Videos are added through the web app for YouTube or through a Chrome extension that also works on Udemy, Coursera, Google Meet recordings and other web video. Once a video is in a notebook, the tool automatically captures timestamped slides, giving a visual summary that can be browsed before or instead of watching linearly, along with timestamped text chapters for stretches where a video has no slides. Any note or screenshot a learner takes becomes a clickable bookmark that plays the video from exactly that point. The AI layer answers questions using only the content of the videos in the notebook rather than the open internet, and its answers include the relevant slides and links back into specific moments — the vendor draws this contrast explicitly against general assistants, whose inputs are web pages rather than course transcripts and slides. Assessment features generate multiple-choice quizzes, short-answer and coding quizzes, and flashcards, each with immediate feedback and explanations that cite slides and video positions. Search runs across transcripts and notes for every video in a notebook. Sample notebooks are published for public courses from MIT, Harvard Medical School, Yale, Khan Academy and 3Blue1Brown. Canvas LMS integration exists, and institutional customisation is offered on request.
