Recoupt is a Stripe payment-recovery service that works the failed-invoice queue most subscription businesses never look at. It connects through Stripe OAuth, so it never touches card data, then reads the decline reason on every failed payment and routes it to a retry schedule appropriate to that reason — an insufficient-funds decline and an expired card are different problems and rewarding them with the same fixed retry interval is why default dunning underperforms. Branded dunning emails go to the customer, and a live dashboard shows revenue at risk, revenue recouped in the last thirty days, revenue permanently lost and a recoup rate across resolved payments, broken out per failed invoice with the decline code visible. The commercial model is the pitch and the vendor states the arithmetic explicitly: recovery services that take a percentage of what they recoup charge $225-375 a month on $1,500 recouped, which is the customer's entire margin, so Recoupt charges a flat monthly fee and never a cut of the recovery. That makes it viable at the small end of the market, where a revenue-share pricing model is the thing that kills the purchase. Setup is a Stripe connect flow rather than an integration project, so the time between deciding to try it and seeing the first recovered invoice is measured in minutes rather than in a sprint of engineering work nobody has scheduled.
