Rapid Claw is managed hosting for OpenClaw, the open-source AI assistant toolkit, aimed at solo founders and operators who want a persistent agent without becoming a sysadmin. The problem it addresses is concrete and the vendor documents it step by step: self-hosting means provisioning a server, installing dependencies, resolving build errors, configuring environment variables, connecting an AI provider and messaging channels, setting up a process manager and reverse proxy, and debugging port and permission conflicts — roughly an hour for an experienced developer and a wall for everyone else. Rapid Claw provisions a dedicated, isolated, encrypted instance instead, handling updates, security patches and backups, and gets a working assistant running in about three minutes with no terminal. Deployment targets include Discord, Telegram, Slack, WhatsApp, web and API, and model access routes through OpenRouter across Claude, GPT, Gemini, Llama and Mistral with smart routing to control cost. The middle tier is materially different rather than just larger: it runs microVMs with sudo access so the agent can execute code, install packages, spin up databases and serve live preview links, which turns it from a chat assistant into a build environment. Encryption is AES-256 with daily backups, and API credits are bundled into each tier.
