PodText transcribes a podcast episode from a link rather than a file: paste an Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart, Xiaoyuzhou, YouTube or RSS URL and it fetches and transcribes the audio with no download and no upload step. Files up to 500 MB or three hours can be uploaded directly if the source is not a public feed, across more than twenty formats. Language is auto-detected across 99-plus languages, Chinese output converts to a preferred script, and quality is claimed to hold on long audio. What comes back is not just a wall of text: the timestamped transcript sits on the left with an AI-generated summary, chapter breakdown, key highlights and a TL;DR on the right, so the episode is skimmable before it is readable. Export runs to SRT, VTT, TXT and Markdown in one click, which covers subtitles, documents and notes without a conversion step. The credit accounting is the part worth quoting because it is the usual place these products get slippery, and here it is not: one credit equals one minute of transcription with no multipliers and no rounding tricks, so a 45-minute episode costs 45 credits. Credits are only charged when a transcription actually starts and are refunded in full if it fails. Audio storage is permanent on every paid tier.
