PDFChat is a chat-with-your-documents tool whose one real design commitment is citation. Every answer is traced to the exact page it came from, and clicking a citation highlights the passage inside the rendered document, which converts the output from something a user must trust into something a user can check in one click. That matters more than it sounds in a category where the standard failure is a confident summary of a clause the model partly invented, and where the readers who need the tool most — someone reviewing a contract, a research report or a policy document — are exactly the readers who cannot afford to accept an unverifiable answer. The functional surface is deliberately narrow: upload a PDF, ask questions, get page-cited answers, and generate summaries, with OCR handling scanned documents so image-only PDFs are not a dead end. The trial path is unusually low-friction — the live demo runs in the browser with no account at all, accepting either your own file up to 5MB or a provided sample, and it is the real product rather than a video. Documents are encrypted at rest. Metering is token-based rather than per-document, with 3,000 free tokens a month, five uploads and a hundred-page cap on the free tier, rising to 30,000 tokens, unlimited uploads, unlimited chat sessions and a 2,000-page-per-PDF ceiling on the single paid plan. There is exactly one paid tier, which keeps the decision to a yes or a no.
