ogimg.xyz generates Open Graph preview images from a single HTTP GET request, which is a deliberately small surface for a problem that usually gets solved with something much larger. The alternatives are either designing every social card by hand, which does not scale past a handful of pages, or standing up a headless-browser rendering service, which is real infrastructure to run for what amounts to a 1200x630 PNG. Here the whole integration is a URL: pass a title, a description and a template name as query parameters, and the edge servers return the image in milliseconds. Drop that URL into the og:image meta tag and every link share renders correctly. Ten professionally designed templates ship with it along with a set of background patterns, so a site can vary card design by section without a designer being involved. No SDK is required and no client library needs to be installed, which means it works identically from a static site generator, a Next.js app, a WordPress theme or a shell script writing HTML.
