HeyRetro runs agile retrospectives on one live shared board, from the opening icebreaker through to the action items, and its design bet is that the whole meeting should stay in a single flow rather than jumping between a timer app, a poll tool and a task tracker. The board moves through named phases — Collect, Vote, Focus, Wrap-up — with a readiness indicator showing how many participants have finished each one. Cards can be merged, voted on and reacted to in real time, and teammates appear as they join. Fifteen retro formats ship as templates, plus icebreakers such as This-or-That polls. Anonymous surveys handle the feedback people will not put their name to, and a guest link lets anyone join a board free without an account, which removes the usual friction of running a retro with contractors or cross-org participants. Two integration surfaces stand out: retros can be started from any Microsoft Teams channel, chat or meeting, and an AI client can create a board programmatically (the site shows a create_board call returning a live board URL), which suits teams that want the retro spun up by automation at sprint end. Data ownership is stated explicitly — content the team adds remains theirs.
