Scottie is an overnight news digest service that reads a subscriber's own sources and emails one brief every morning. The sources are the ones a reader has already chosen — Substack newsletters, YouTube channels, podcasts, Reddit and local news outlets — rather than a generic feed, and the product's core operation is deduplication: when ten newsletters cover the same story, Scottie collapses them into one paragraph and explicitly skips reruns of items the reader already saw, surfacing only the changed fact. The published example brief shows the structure: a short rundown of what matters, a section for stories where the reader's sources disagree, a 'you read this Monday, here is the new part' section that isolates the one new detail from an already-familiar story, a 'worth your ears' section pulling specific points out of hours of podcast listening, and a local events block. Every claim in the brief links back to its source, which is the vendor's stated answer to summarisation hallucination — the brief is a routing layer to original reporting, not a replacement for it. Briefs are localised to the reader's city for the events and transit sections and can be steered by preference ('you asked for less crypto'). The pitch is time: roughly ninety minutes of sorting feeds replaced by one email. Pricing is deliberately a single plan with no tier ladder.
