About Graph Compose

Graph Compose gives you Temporal's durability without running Temporal. You keep your existing HTTP services and describe how they connect as a JSON graph — nodes with dependencies, template expressions referencing upstream results, per-node retry policies and timeouts — then POST it to /v1/workflows/execute and it runs immediately on hosted Temporal with automatic retries, durable state and error boundaries. There is no cluster to operate, no worker fleet to deploy and, unusually, no build step, which is the property that makes it interesting for agent work: a backend, a cron job or an AI agent can compose and submit a brand-new workflow at runtime rather than shipping code to add one. The same JSON is produced three ways — hand-written, generated by AI, or exported from the visual builder — so a workflow drafted in the UI and a workflow emitted by an agent are the same artefact. Node types cover HTTP calls, error handling, agents and tools, with ninety-nine-plus prebuilt integrations, conditional branching, ADK agent orchestration and webhook notifications included on every plan. Enterprise adds custom node types you build and deploy yourself and the option to bring your own Temporal cluster, which is a sensible exit path for anyone who outgrows the hosted model.
