GitLaw applies a software-engineering model to legal documents, and the name is the thesis: contracts get version history, audit logs and review the way code does, rather than living as a chain of email attachments named final_v3_REALLY_final. Founders and startup teams draft contracts with AI from templates, get them reviewed by AI, and then manage them through their lifecycle with free eSigning built in. The structural choice that makes it usable at a startup's scale is what is not metered. Documents are unlimited on every plan including the free one, members are unlimited on every plan, and sharing with any other organisation is free — so the counterparty never needs a licence to participate, which is the failure point that quietly kills most contract tools inside small companies. What is metered is AI: the free plan carries $5 of monthly AI credits, and Pro adds $25 of credits per seat. That is the right thing to charge for, because it is the only part with a real marginal cost, and it means a team can adopt GitLaw as its document system of record without a per-document or per-seat calculation. Pro adds advanced team settings, an audit log with version history and priority support; Enterprise adds a custom AI credit pool, SSO and SAML, dedicated support with an SLA and extended audit retention. There are templates, a knowledge base and integrations alongside the core product.
