Cuevy Audio to Text is a free browser tool for transcribing English speech from local audio and video files, up to 20 minutes and 50 MB. It runs Whisper base.en on your device, with about 110 MB of recognizer files downloaded from Hugging Face on the first run. You can listen to the recording, edit the transcript and segment timestamps, and copy or download TXT or SRT. Microphone recordings can be up to 5 minutes. File support depends on the codec and browser; a computer is recommended. Review words and estimated segment timing before use. The tool does not identify speakers, translate speech, or burn captions into video. Audio, video, file names and transcript content are not uploaded to Cuevy.
