ChartDB is a database schema visualization and data modeling tool that produces an editable entity-relationship diagram from your existing database without ever needing direct database access from ChartDB itself. You run a single provided query against your database, paste the result, and get a full diagram in roughly fifteen seconds — which is the key adoption detail, because it means the tool can be used against production schemas without opening a network path or handing over credentials. From there you can edit the diagram, export clean DDL scripts in your preferred SQL dialect, keep the diagram automatically in sync with a live database, and track schema changes over time through diffs and version history. An AI agent layer generates fully editable, optimized ER diagrams from a plain-language prompt, so a new schema can be sketched conversationally and then refined visually. Collaboration is real-time: teammates can be invited to view and edit the same diagram simultaneously, and diagrams can be exported as customizable, embeddable documentation for any schema.
