Cabinet is an open-source, self-hostable AI workspace built around ownership. It ingests a company's knowledge base and files, puts a team of AI specialists — an AI SDR, marketing expert, researcher and others — to work on that material, and renders results as live apps and dashboards rather than as chat transcripts you have to copy somewhere useful. Routines and scheduled tasks run unattended: a weekly report, a nightly backup, a standing scan of Reddit for mentions. The architectural decision that defines the product is that three things stay separate and independently owned. The platform can be self-hosted for $0 or run as Cabinet Cloud from $20/month. The AI accounts are yours — you connect the OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or Grok accounts your company already funds, so provider usage stays on the provider bill you already control rather than being marked up and resold inside a bundled plan. And the company work stays yours: the full Cabinet directory exports whole and moves when you decide to move it. You can change the hosting plan without changing the providers, the files or the workflows. That is a meaningfully different posture from AI workspaces that bundle inference into a per-seat price and make the export path an afterthought, and it is the right shape for a company that does not want its operational knowledge base to become someone else's product.
