About WorldIP
WorldIP is an IP intelligence API built on the company's own scanner fleet rather than on resold third-party data. It sweeps the full IPv4 space — all 4.3 billion addresses — on a sub-daily refresh and returns, for any address you ask about, the owning organisation, ASN number and name, country, region and city, the CIDR block it sits in, and both reverse and forward DNS, as clean JSON in under a second. The site claims more than 80,000 ASNs tracked and over 1.2 billion reverse-DNS records. What makes it unusually easy to adopt is that the base lookup needs no key and no signup at all: curl worldip.io/8.8.8.8 from any shell returns the record over plain HTTP, which means it can be dropped into a helpdesk, CRM or dashboard as a URL-substitution for an existing WHOIS endpoint without writing an integration. Beyond the descriptive layer sit the paid ones — ASN and organisation enrichment, /24 neighbour context, hosted-domain listings, and a threat layer that classifies residential, mobile and datacenter proxies, VPNs, Tor exits and botnet nodes, with a trust score and live BGP state.
