About Supadata

Supadata is a web and video-to-text API aimed at makers who need transcripts and structured data out of social video without building and maintaining the scraping layer themselves. It covers YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, returning both auto-generated and manually uploaded captions where they exist, and falling back to AI-generated transcription when a video has none — which is the case that usually breaks naive transcript libraries. Alongside transcripts it returns video metadata and derived meaning, so the output is structured data rather than a wall of text you then have to parse. There is a companion web-fetching endpoint for regular URLs, making it usable as a general content-ingestion layer for a RAG pipeline rather than only as a video tool. A playground is available before you write any code. The commercial model is credit-based and unusually legible: fetching a website URL or retrieving an existing transcript costs one credit, generating a transcript with AI costs two credits per minute of audio, so you can estimate a workload before committing. Rate limits scale with the plan from one request per second on free up to a hundred per second at the top, and auto-recharge is available on paid tiers so a batch job does not die mid-run. The free tier gives 100 credits every month with no card.
