About Statey
Statey is a hosted database that AI agents talk to over MCP, aimed at the state problem rather than the memory problem. The distinction it draws is sharp: memory holds facts, but agent-driven work produces records — a triaged ticket, an enriched lead, a decision — and those need structure, status, ownership and history. Today that state gets improvised into a markdown file or a scratch SQLite server, where structure drifts, concurrent agents clobber each other's writes, and nothing exists outside one machine. Statey gives you one hosted database that every MCP client shares: say 'log this bug' in Claude and a validated record appears with status, owner and history; query it a week later from Cursor or ChatGPT and the same record answers, even if a different agent changed it in between, because every write is attributed to the actor that made it. Collections are typed, so statuses cannot silently drift and one collection can reference another. An event log records ticket.created and ticket.updated with the acting agent, and triggers can fire deliveries off those events. Setup is a single `mcp add mcp.statey.ai` — there is no server to run. The pricing model is deliberately unusual for the category: reads and writes are never billed, only stored data, and a hard spend cap sits over the account.
