SoBrief

About SoBrief

SoBrief is a book summary library covering more than 26,000 titles across fiction and non-fiction, positioned around a ten-minute read per book and free access to the written summaries with no paywall on the text itself. What gets sold is audio: the free tier plays the first key takeaway of any book, while a subscription unlocks full audio summaries across the whole catalogue — the vendor puts the library at over 12,000 hours of listening. Audio is generated in roughly forty languages and the interface itself localises across a comparably long list, which is a wider net than the English-first incumbents in this category cast. Summaries can be exported as PDF or EPUB, and there is a mobile app alongside the web reader. Discovery is organised by theme, curated lists, trending, new releases, genre and author, with an import path for existing reading lists, bookmarks, history, ratings and personalised recommendations behind a free account, plus the ability to request summaries of books not yet covered. A gift option and an affiliate programme are both published. The pricing is worth attention for the lifetime option, which is rare in a subscription-first category and is priced at eight months of the monthly rate.
