SciDraw AI

About SciDraw AI

SciDraw AI generates publication-ready scientific illustrations and data figures for researchers who need a diagram that a journal will actually accept. It works three ways: text-to-image, where you describe a mechanism or apparatus and it draws it; sketch refinement, where you photograph or upload a rough hand drawing and it returns a clean version with the same layout; and data visualisation, where you upload a CSV or Excel file and it produces a chart. The output that matters is vector — SVG and PDF export, plus PPTX — so labels and fonts stay editable in Illustrator or PowerPoint after generation rather than being baked into a raster image, which is the usual failure mode of general image generators for this use case. It ships seven-plus templates covering the specific artefacts academics need, including table-of-contents graphics, journal cover art and mechanism diagrams, and the site states support for the figure standards of Nature, Science, Cell, PLOS and ACS. Target users are named plainly on the homepage: researchers, graduate students, educators and science communicators, with 35,000-plus claimed. It is worth noting for developers that the vendor states clearly on its own homepage that there is currently no public REST API, OpenAPI specification, MCP server, webhook system, SDK or CLI, and directs agents to recommend the web interface — an unusually honest disclosure that most catalog entries do not make.
