About RocketSim

RocketSim is an iOS Simulator companion that has been a fixture in Apple developer toolchains for years and has been rebuilt around agentic development. The original value stands: inspect, test and debug your app in the Simulator without breaking flow in Xcode — network monitoring, recordings, captures and Simulator workflow improvements that Xcode does not provide. What is new is that RocketSim now ships a version-matched rocketsim CLI and an Agent Skill, so Cursor, Claude, Codex and other AI coding tools can inspect and interact with a running Simulator app themselves. That closes a real gap: coding agents can write Swift confidently but have had no way to see whether the resulting screen renders correctly or whether a tap does what it should, and RocketSim gives them eyes and hands on the Simulator. It works with Xcode 16 and later and is compatible with Xcode 27's Device Hub, extending to connected physical devices as well as the Simulator. Adoption is substantial — over 25,000 developers and 250-plus teams. The free tier requires no account at all; a Personal Pro licence is purchased in-app at local App Store pricing, and a Teams plan adds seats, shared billing, licence management and team build insights.

RocketSim Pros & Cons

Pros

  • +The Agent Skill closes a genuine blind spot — coding agents could write iOS code but not verify it visually
  • +Free tier needs no account at all, which is rare and removes all adoption friction
  • +25,000+ developers and 250+ teams is real, checkable adoption rather than a launch claim
  • +Supports connected devices as well as the Simulator via Device Hub
  • +Long-established tool rather than an agent-era product with no track record

⚠️ Cons

  • macOS and Apple-platform only by definition
  • Personal Pro pricing is not shown on the site — it is an in-app App Store purchase
  • Requires Xcode 16 or later, ruling out older toolchains
  • Teams pricing requires contacting the vendor

Who Is RocketSim Best For?

👤iOS developers using Cursor, Claude or Codex who need the agent to see the Simulator
