Quests

An open-source, local-first desktop app builder that runs any LLM on your own machine to generate GUIs — free, exportable, and available for Mac, Windows and Linux.

open-sourceFree and open source, published on GitHub, with no paid tier advertised. Apps are built and run locally on your own machine, and Quests is model-agnostic — you bring your own LLM provider, so any inference cost is billed to you by that provider rather than by Quests. Desktop builds for macOS, Windows and Linux.View full pricing →

About Quests

Quests is an open-source desktop app builder that runs the whole build-and-execute loop on your own computer rather than in a hosted sandbox. You describe what you want, Quests drives an LLM of your choosing to write it, and the resulting app is built and run locally — no deployment step, no remote container, no account. The use case the project leads with is the one that hosted app builders handle badly: putting a graphical front end on a command-line tool. A developer with a script they run twenty times a day, or a non-developer who has been handed a CLI and told to use it, can get a working GUI without touching a terminal or installing developer tooling first. Generated apps are described as zero-dependency and use standard frameworks and libraries, which matters because it means the output is not locked to the builder — a single click exports the project, and what you get is an ordinary codebase you can keep working on elsewhere. Quests is provider-agnostic on the model side, so you supply whichever LLM you already pay for. It ships for macOS, Windows and Linux, is open source on GitHub, and is free. The project is published by Finalpoint.
