Pickaxe is a platform for building AI agents and then selling access to them, which is a different job from building an agent for internal use. The build side covers connecting agents to email, databases and third-party APIs, with published patterns spanning lead qualification into a CRM, client intake into Google Sheets, support bots that escalate to Slack, content generation scheduled through Zapier, coaching companions, tutors and internal knowledge bases. The commerce side is what the product is actually organised around: agents are packaged into products and sold through branded customer portals with billing, access control and usage tracking already built in, so a consultant or agency does not assemble Stripe, an auth layer and a metering system themselves. White-labelling is available from the entry tier. Workspaces are the unit of packaging, each with its own collaborators, connected actions and user memories, and both agents and workspaces are addressable through an API charged per request. The tiering maps to who is selling: solopreneurs get a small number of workspaces and actions with a monthly credit allowance, AI consulting organisations get unlimited workspaces, unlimited document uploads, unlimited action connections and Slack and WhatsApp deployment, and the top tier is aimed at companies retaining up to 98% of workspace revenue with advanced SSO and user management. Monthly credit allowances are included at every paid level and the annual toggle saves 20%.
