machine0 rents persistent virtual machines that are designed to be driven by an agent rather than by a person in a web console. Every operation is a CLI command with a --json flag, and a remote MCP server exposes the same surface so Claude Code or Codex can create, start, suspend, snapshot and destroy machines programmatically. The persistence is the differentiator against ephemeral sandbox providers: a machine0 VM stays on until you stop or suspend it, so an agent working a long task across days does not lose its filesystem between sessions, and suspending freezes the state and stops the billing clock without discarding anything. Images are NixOS or Ubuntu, both open source and published, with Docker, Node, Python, Claude Code and Codex pre-installed on the Ubuntu image; the NixOS path gives deterministic flake-based builds and one-command rollbacks for anyone who wants reproducibility rather than a mutable box. Profiles let you inject MCP server definitions, credentials, prompts and environment variables into a VM at creation time, and the agent CLIs pick them up automatically. Every VM gets a public static IP and an HTTPS endpoint at <vm>.mac0.io with no NAT or tunnel, across five regions. Sizes run from 1 vCPU to 60 vCPU and 240 GB of RAM, with optional H100, H200, L40S, MI300X and RTX Ada GPUs, all billed by the minute at the same price in every region.
