IcoGenie generates production-ready SVG icons from a text description, and it is built agent-first rather than app-first — the MCP server and the CLI are presented ahead of the web interface, on the assumption that the person who needs an icon is mid-task in Claude Code or a terminal and does not want to open a design tool. The MCP server drops into Claude Desktop, Claude Code or any MCP client via a single npx entry, so the assistant can generate icons inline. The CLI runs the same thing from the shell. Both wrap the same pipeline: describe the icon in plain English, see watermarked previews across multiple variations, then download. Two generation models are offered — Fast for iteration and Precise for production-quality vectors — with style options for solid, outline and colored, plus an optional style reference image so a set stays visually consistent. A download returns the SVG, PNGs from 16 to 512 pixels, a JSX component and an HTML meta snippet, all unwatermarked, and downloaded icons are licensed for commercial use. Saved icons live in a library that is free to organise. The pricing page argues the case against the alternatives directly: a 20-icon set costs $300–$1,500 and one to six weeks from a freelancer, versus roughly $10 and minutes here. Bundle generation and a favicon path are supported; duotone, gradient and brand-colour variations are on the roadmap.
