First 2 Apply is a desktop application that watches more than ten job boards — LinkedIn, Indeed, Dice and nine others — and alerts you the moment a matching role is posted, on the premise that being among the first applicants in a recruiter's pile materially changes the outcome. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux rather than as a website, a deliberate choice the vendor explains in its own FAQ: a local app can poll continuously and fire native notifications without the site-side rate limits and session problems a hosted scraper hits. Alert frequency is yours to set, from every 30 minutes to weekly. The differentiator over a saved search is the AI filter, which accepts natural-language exclusion rules — exclude jobs that require office visits even if they are labelled remote, hide fullstack roles requiring Python, only show positions under two years of experience — and applies them across every board, telling you which rule removed which listing. A beta Google Search mode queries ATS sites directly. Applications are then tracked in-app with labels and per-stage status, replacing the usual spreadsheet. The vendor cites 8,500+ users and is unusually plain about it: 'probably not the best tool out there, but it is free to try.'
