Extruct AI is a company research API that answers structured questions about businesses, and its defining property is that every answer arrives with the source it came from. That constraint is what separates it from asking a general model about companies, where a plausible-sounding revenue figure or headcount may be a hallucination with no way to check it. Two data surfaces are searched: a curated index of roughly ten million companies, and the live web when the criteria go beyond what any index holds. The query interface is natural language against a compound specification — the site's own example asks for commercial HVAC contractors in Florida serving hospitals and school districts, with fifty or more employees, a completed $5M-plus project in the last twelve months, BIM/Revit capability, and active engineering hires — and returns candidates scored against each criterion individually, so a user can see which requirement eliminated which company. Three modes cover different jobs: semantic search for finding companies by description, lookalike search for expanding from a known set, and Deep Search for researching the live web against criteria no index anticipated. AI research tables let a user add arbitrary enriched columns across a result set, with email and phone lookups available at the higher tiers. Public Data Rooms hold indexed datasets that can be browsed free and exported on a paid plan, and API access plus a Chrome extension are included on every tier including the free one.
