CMDK, formerly Simplehuman, is a browser extension that layers Superhuman-style keyboard control onto Gmail without moving you off Gmail. The centrepiece is a command bar on Cmd+K or Ctrl+K that exposes every mail action — delete, archive, mark read or unread, label, compose, navigate — so most triage happens without touching the mouse. Around it sits a set of features Gmail either lacks or buries: 25 new hotkeys on top of faster native ones, custom inbox tabs for work, personal or project mail cycled with the Tab key, natural-language snooze and reminders where you press B and describe when you want the message back, one-click blocking and bulk deletion of marketing senders, read receipts that quietly log every open and re-open of sent mail, and reusable snippets with variables like {first_name} and {date+3d} inserted by typing a semicolon while composing. Account switching between multiple Gmail inboxes is itself a hotkey, with no limit on how many inboxes a license covers. The product nudges you toward the shortcuts as you work rather than expecting you to memorise a cheat sheet. The pricing rationale is stated plainly: because CMDK runs locally in the browser, running costs are negligible, which is what makes a lifetime tier viable in a category priced at $30 a month.
