BrainDump is a note-taking application built for ADHD users, and the design follows from that premise rather than decorating a generic notes app with the label. There are no folders to choose, no categories to assign and no popups or sidebars: opening the app presents a blank space that can be typed into immediately, on the argument that a thought is lost in the seconds it takes to decide where it belongs. Notes are stored in the user's own iCloud rather than on the vendor's servers, so the company states it never reads, sells or shares them — a meaningful claim for a product whose whole use case is unfiltered thinking. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro with sync handled invisibly, so a thought started on one device is finished on another. On top of the capture layer sit AI features that operate on what has already been written rather than generating from scratch: ask your notes, correct your notes, transform your notes, and AI freewriting tools, with a small free allowance of each on the base tier and unlimited use on the paid one. A dedicated freewriting mode, reminders, background sounds and note merging round out the feature set. The free tier is genuinely free forever with no account or credit card, and the paid tier is billed annually with a weekly option available.
