Setup is a GitHub App install plus a repo selection, then a webhook call added to your CI/CD pipeline or triggered manually at deploy time; when it fires, AutoChangelog pulls the latest merged pull requests, code changes, and commits and writes them up as clear updates rather than a dump of commit subjects. The framing on the homepage is the whole thesis — users do not care what you merged, they care what you shipped — so the AI pass exists to translate technical commit language into something a customer can read. Publishing options cover both ends of the trust spectrum: auto-publish for speed, or review mode where entries wait for edits before going live. The output is a branded, SEO-friendly, dark-mode-capable changelog page on your own domain via CNAME, with five templates, your colours and logo, an RSS feed, and email notifications for subscribers; the Pro tier adds an embeddable widget for putting the changelog inside your product. Entries appear within seconds of a deploy. Repository access is read-only, which is the right scope for a tool that only needs to read merge history. There is a genuinely usable free tier for one repo at up to ten tracked deployments per month.
