Pipe is an audio, video and screen recording platform that gives developers both the browser-side recording client and the infrastructure behind it, so a product team can add in-browser capture without building transcoding, storage and playback themselves. The recording client works on desktop and mobile browsers, captures webcam video up to 4K, screen with camera, or audio only, and the company's pitch is that it absorbs the long tail of browser bugs and permission quirks that make getUserMedia work in demos and fail in production. Recordings are transcoded to MP4, rotated and watermarked as needed, then stored by Pipe or pushed to your own S3 bucket, FTP(S) target, Dropbox or YouTube channel. Integration is via webhooks and JavaScript APIs, with a dashboard for browsing and searching the recording library and playback or download links for embedding.
