Perplexity Comet is Perplexity's Chromium-based AI browser, built around agentic browsing — an assistant that doesn't just answer questions about a page but fills out forms, adds items to a cart, books reservations, and completes multi-step tasks directly inside the tab. Comet dropped its Pro-subscriber-only paywall on March 18, 2026 and is now free on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. Beyond agentic actions, Comet brings Perplexity's Deep Research mode into the browser itself — triggerable on whatever page you're viewing for a sourced, cited report without opening a separate app — along with a tab-aware sidebar assistant and voice mode for hands-free browsing. Comet Plus ($5/mo, included free with Pro/Max) unlocks premium publisher content from launch partners like Conde Nast, CNN, Fortune, and The Washington Post inside search results instead of hitting paywalls.
